On my way to work this morning I heard a phrase…..”You are and eagle……not a chicken.” Now to alot of you your probably saying, she has completely lost her mind. But give me a few seconds and you will see why I got my Jesus dance on this morning!!!!!!
Well lets talk about them chickens first….. Chickens spend almost all their lives on the ground. They are completely in a controlled environment. They have no chance of ever being able to just push their chest out and go out in the world and survive on their own, because the never had to. They are subject to many many predators…wolves, coyotes, dogs, and 🙂 Humans!!!! That is exactly how so many of Christians today live. Completely in a controlled environment. They attend a church that plays their style of music, sit in the same seat every night, have the same routine in church. They never venture out in the real world to testify, or simply to let people know who much Jesus loves them because they can not survive in the world on their own. They let everything in this life dictate their joy, their happiness, their peace. They let the fear of the unknown…. the fear of failing….fear of losing friendships, fear of losing family, fear of not being good enough, fear of not being loved…..!!!!! (THIS WAS ME……A FEW YEARS AGO)
But and eagle……..now an eagle is not limited at all….they soar free above all the chaos. They rise above the storm, ( WHICH IS PRETTY COOL) or the circumstance. They are not subject to very many predators because they know how to rise above the enemy. Is.40:31 They will mount up with wings as a eagle. This is how a select few Christians are living today…..Above the storm, above all circumstances, above the enemy. These Christian are not confined to any where…..They are free, they are strong, they are ready to rejoice no matter the circumstance, the trial, the hardship…… (THIS IS ME TODAY)
The most amazing thing about an eagle HOWEVER is…… the mothers don’t let their young get complacent in the environment. They stir the nest so to say. Hard Love would be another phrase……. They teach them that being complacent is not acceptable and very very dangerous. You should always be moving about to, and above to see the full God given picture. They even get to the point and push their young completely out of they nest to teach them to fly on their own…….(oh my ready to get my preach on). My God…….Oh my faithful loving God…….Yes he did that to me……and if you think about it I am sure he did that to you. Maybe it was a job you did not get, a marriage proposal that never made it to the altar, maybe you got evicted from your old place and now you own your own home…..like my husband maybe you got a pink slip which helped you mount up with wings as a eagle and started his own successful God blessed business………Oh my give me a sec…..dancing…….God is so Good!!!!!!!! Oh my oh my oh my…..and you know even when things get a little hairy, and your start to slip or fail when he pushes you……don’t freight…..Because just like and eagle mother He swoops down just in the nick of time…..just before you hit the ground and carries you. Carries you back to the nest, his arms…….His loving arms.
Now if that don’t have you shouting…….you may need to see a doctor!!!!! So my question to you today is …….. Eagle or Chicken????? Which are you?
Dear Lord,
I come to you today with a thankful heart. I thank you that you pushed me out of my comfort zone….That you seen something in me that I never seen in myself. I commit my life to you, I am determined by your power and your power alone that I will rise above all that the enemy throws at me. I will soar above the storms of life because you have given me wings as a eagle. I pray that if my brothers and sisters who are reading this can’t say they are a eagle that they too will spend sometime with you..so you can mount them up with wings as eagles to serve you, serve you whole heartedly, and receive all that you have for them. In Jesus name I pray.
