John 8:3-5, 10-11 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
Yesterday my nephew and I sat on the porch and had an awesome talk about how so many in our world today looks at a person and says things like…”she’ll never straighten up!!” “He is nasty for cheating on his wife.” “How could they lie like that?” “He is a murderer he is a waste of time!!!” “They will always be a druggy.” To be honest sadly I have said a statement or two that was exactly like them before, actually not long ago.
I was telling my nephew that people look at people with no grace anymore. They look at others like they have not made mistakes. They look at other people and their worth by measuring their sin.
Gosh my heart breaks knowing that I have done that.
YESHUA which means JESUS, he knew every horrible, mean, repulsive thought and every action of every human being before they did it. He knew that one of his beloved disciples was going to betray him before he did it. He knew they woman at the well had many husbands before she told him. He knew the world would hang him on a cross and take his life… (Or at least they thought) before they did it. He knew that this woman committed adultery……yes even before she fell into it. Yet he looks upon them with grace…..with prayer….. With love.
So why can’t we? Are we not ambassadors of Christ?
I told my nephew so many around me and yes even me at moments are crying out for help and falling apart, not because that is their way of life….but because no one wants to take time and show them love, show them grace, show them that they are not the only one who as failed, to show them Christ……..!!!!! Instead they look at them with accusations, rejection, simply condemnation…….
It is time……to step back and look at every single human…….red, yellow, black or white, rich or poor, young or old, drunk or druggy etc.…. with the eyes of Christ. Be his ambassadors and look at every one like he did this woman; He loved her, he adored her at her worse……He hated the sin but he seen beyond her sin…..and seen that inside her was a warrior…..He seen his child who had a purpose set before her. She just needed someone to see that she was worth standing up for, that she was loved, that although she failed miserably she was not forgotten, or not tossed to the side.
Forever In His Service,
